Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on November 12 and 13, 2025, to raise concerns about foreign ownership of land near sensitive military installations and to address ongoing budget negotiations in Congress.
On November 12, Alford wrote, "For years, federal agencies—including the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S.—have been asleep at the switch and failed to stop these dangerous transactions. This is why we introduced the American Land and Property Protection Act https://t.co/Rtusu9DPKE". In a related post on the same day, he questioned foreign acquisitions near military bases: "Whiteman Air Force Base is home to the B-2 and soon the B-21 Raider — America’s best deterrence and a pillar of our nuclear triad. So why on earth are Chinese companies as well as other foreign adversaries allowed to buy land near it? https://t.co/nNheNbNXCl".
On November 13, Alford addressed Congressional proceedings regarding government funding: "Feels like deja vu all over again. 59 days ago, we were in this very spot debating to keep America OPEN! Here we are, again, fighting to end the Schumer Shutdown. Tonight @HouseGOP will deliver for the American people! https://t.co/8aLbTMmjYD".
Mark Alford has served as Missouri's 4th district representative since replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023. Born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently residing in Lake Winnebago, Alford holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin earned in 1988.
