Senator Eric Schmitt has made a series of public statements regarding Antifa and federal disaster assistance for Missouri. In recent posts on his social media account, Schmitt addressed both security concerns related to Antifa and the allocation of federal funds following severe storms in Missouri.
On November 13, 2025, Senator Schmitt wrote, "Antifa operates as an international network, with decentralized terror cells working together to share tactics and plan violent attacks. Designating them as Foreign Terror Organizations will hold the network that enables Antifa operations across the West accountable."
Two days later, on November 15, 2025, he posted about federal support for Missouri: "Great News—Missouri will be receiving $5 million in federal workforce assistance in the wake of the devastating storms this year. I’m proud to have led this effort alongside the Trump admin and local officials to secure this much needed funding for those so deeply impacted."
Later that same day, Schmitt returned to the subject of Antifa’s activities: "These anarchists were highly organized, trained and funded. They fully intended to inflict maximum casualties. They’re terrorists. Full stop. This is why I worked with the administration to designate Antifa cells as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. We’re just getting started."
Schmitt’s comments come amid ongoing national debate over how law enforcement should address groups such as Antifa and whether such organizations meet criteria for foreign terrorist designation under U.S. law.
The announcement of $5 million in federal workforce assistance follows a series of destructive storms in Missouri earlier this year. The aid is intended to support recovery efforts and assist residents affected by storm damage.
