Rep. Mark Alford raises security concerns over land purchases near Whiteman Air Force Base

Rep. Mark Alford, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 4th district since 2023, raised concerns on social media about national security and legislative issues in a series of posts dated November 15, 2025.

In his first post at 15:08 UTC, Alford stated, "If adversaries can buy land ½ a mile from our nuclear fleet at Whiteman Air Force Base, we’ve got a SERIOUS problem." The congressman followed up immediately with another message demanding accountability: "I’m demanding answers."

Later that day at 15:13 UTC, Alford promoted an upcoming live event discussing recent congressional developments and broader national issues. He wrote, "LIVE: E43! Hear directly from @HouseGOP members as we discuss the consequences of Schumer’s Shutdown & what was the Senate’s sneaky provision in the government funding package?! + work happening in Congress, the latest on the Epstein files, AND the road ahead for our nation."

Alford's comments come amid ongoing debates about foreign ownership of land near sensitive military installations such as Whiteman Air Force Base. Concerns over potential threats to national security have prompted lawmakers to call for increased scrutiny and possible legislative action.

A member of Congress since replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023, Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th district and is known for engaging with constituents on defense and government transparency issues. Born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently residing in Lake Winnebago, he holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin (graduated in 1988).
