Grace Slaughter, Guard | Missouri Tigers Women's Basketball
Missouri Tigers women's basketball player Grace Slaughter has been named to the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Preseason Top 20 Watchlist, according to an announcement made Wednesday. The award, presented by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, recognizes the top small forwards in women's college basketball.
Slaughter is entering her junior season and was recently named the 2024-25 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Over her career, she has averaged 13.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She currently holds second place in program history for free-throw percentage at 84.6 percent.
Last season, Slaughter averaged 15 points per game, which placed her 18th in scoring within the Southeastern Conference (SEC). She ranked third in the SEC for free-throw percentage at 85.8 percent and had a three-point shooting percentage of 46 percent.
She set a personal best with a 31-point performance against Mississippi State, including a game-winning buzzer beater.
Before joining Missouri, Slaughter was recognized as the 2023 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year and was selected as a McDonald's All-American. She was ranked as the top player in Missouri and No. 56 nationally out of Grain Valley High School.
Slaughter will begin her junior campaign on November 3 when Missouri faces Central Arkansas at Mizzou Arena.
